Is a MOUNTFIELD lawnmower (briggs & stratton engine) brand a very good choice?????
Posted by admin
My father has had a MOUNTFIELD (briggs & stratton engine) brand lawnmower which has never let him down, is this a good choice for me and a good make for when i get one?????,….if so, where does this brand/engine stand in regards to if it was a car from a lada to a rolls????????
Hi Mandy.
Yes Briggs & Stratton are a good engine and are probably the most popular (because they are reliable) engine fitted to a wide range of mowers.
Personally I prefer the Hayter range of mowers and the older ones are just as good as the new ones, so a used Hayter might be an idea. Mountfield are pretty good brand though.
Hope that helps a little.

mountfeild is a good mower fitted with a briggs and stratton is a good choice these can also be fitted with the honda engine which is also good. there are lots of good makes out there but these are in the top ones best measure your lawn area then pop down to your nearest lawnmower dealers and they will fit you to the best mower for your size of lawn BEWARE you can also get these models from big name diy superstores try to avoid these as there not as good an engine.if you go to a proper place at least you can return it if anything should happen.

Hi - Mountfield are good mowers but go to a mower seller rather than a DIY shed as they have the brands make mowers for a price thus less quality. The best home mowers in my opinion are Honda the quality and reliability are unsupassed. I serviced and sold mowers for 5 years.

I would describe a Mountfield/ B&S combination as being like an Audi saloon. A good make, but not the most expensive, and spares are readily available.

If you end up with a big lawn it would be a very good choice. For a small lawn an electric mower would suit you better.

Buy one. They’re amazing! Electric ones are always braking down and they’re a bugger to clean. Trust me, your Dad has the greatest mower ever!
