I’m looking for a champion or bosch cross reference for spark plugs for a generac guardian generator?

Posted by admin

The generac number is OE7585. Thanks.

Go to the local Generac Dealer and get the plug that came with the
Generator. It may make a difference. Get the gap for the plug and check it before you install it.

It is a generac and the specs are

My portable generator broke - Generac 7550 EXL

Posted by admin

I need some generator advice, please. We have started this Generac 7550 every month and let it run for 10-15 minutes each time. Nothing has changed in the way we do that. The last time we pushed the Start button, nothing connected. Not sure where the problem may be, perhaps someone out there will have a suggestion for us. Around to the right of the start button, on the side, is a part called the Rotor Assy (I think). Anyway, my husband said that he thinks the spinning part is supposed to move forward and make a connection with the Starter button, that is not happening. If that info helps… ? I filmed this one day when he was not home. I suppose he will try to start it manually. I’m not strong enough, as you can see! And, quite a lame effort, I admit. Any ideas on the cause of the problem?

Generac Quicksilver 5kw Generator in Sea Ray?

Gen set runs fine till heavy load placed on. Gen voltage goes from 120 to 150 then back to zero, then back to 150 and so on . Removing load does not stop voltage oscellation. What is the fix? Thanks.

I would check what the other two have suggested. There are several things that need checking. Make sure your engine speed is 3600 rpm. You will need a hertz meter to check. Run with no load and it should be around 61 htz. These units were bad for goveners not working properly. If speed is steady you need to move to the voltage regulator. It is a circuit board with six leads coming off of it. You need to check sensing voltage. This is on terminals 11 and 22. This should be around 120 volts steady. Then need to check DC output to brushes this is on terminals 1 and 4. It should be around 12v dc and steady. The leads on the regulator from left to right are 2-6-1-4-11-22. This is most likely your problem but because it can cost close to 400.00 dollars I would check everything else out first.
Because of its age some parts are very difficult to find anymore. There are several other things it could be but difficult to test.
You may be better having someone who works on these units check it out. It can save you money in the long run.
I work on gen sets all the time and most of the time can find the problem in less than 30 min.
