Cool Man! You made me think about being more careful about my batteries I have the big wire hooked straight to my 2 deep cycle bat. MY inverter has a built in fuse should i run a breaker between the two and shut off? Great Videos Man!! Awesome Stuff!

Hello
Your 12G …
Hello
Your 12G wire is way to small even if you had a seperate wire for each panel. I dont know if you wached all my vids but anyway I have 6 200W panels at 12V devided into 2 600W arrays wired in parallel. Each array runs 28FT on #1 wire.
I have seen lots of videos where people are not getting near as much power as the system should and its all in the wire.

I have 12 at 236AH …
I have 12 at 236AH They are 6V and they are deep cycle. This is not as important if you are choosing to grid tie with battery backup. My batterys get cycled quite a bit because I have lights and 2 12V chest freazers on them.

Hi, My question is …
Hi, My question is what wire size is going to the roof to the solar panels to the garage. Also what is the volts on the solar panels on the roof. I have 400 watts of solar panels of power on my roof and they are 12 volts 80watt solar panels and I am using 12 g wire and its 43 feet to the solar panels charger. then the solar charger keeps the battery up. Then from the battery to the dc-ac power inverter. Wish i could get a grid tie inverter but my setup is off grid. thanks in advance.

OBX. I got your …
OBX. I got your mess. thx. How many batteries are you using? Are they deep cycle? 6VDC like golfcart batteries? I like your idea of having backup.
Thanks

No I am either grid …
No I am either grid tying or battery charging. The grid tie inverters need to see grid power to operate.
Go to my channel and watch the other videos I think they will answer your questions.

The island …
The island protection will disconnect from the grid, yet still power your panel?
How many batteries do you have? and are they deep cycle? 6v each, like golfcart batteries?
Do you still have the Bud Lite in your fridge?

Hello
I have …
Hello
I have both the inverters have island protection wich is the automatic and you saw the one on the house is the manuel disconect and required by National code.
The bat bank is the most inportant to me. If the power goes out for what ever reason I have backup power indefinatly.
With a purely grid tie system you have no backup power.

Guess my mesage …
Guess my mesage didn’t go thru. Do you have an automatic grid disconnect? It’s required here in GA. Also I’m wondering why the batteries? Why not send all power to the grid, then use what you need when you need it. Let them store it.
Thanks

Aclimation its all what your use to. I spend alot of time in south america and thought I was going to die in 65 degree airports. Thank you for your comment dont make fun of us soft peaple in the south. I have a trip coming up to Equidore perhaps you should tag along so I can laugh at you while you melt. Thanks again the green stuff is fun but I wouldnt do it with out having battery back up for whatever could happen. CHEERS WINDY NC

The problem with …
The problem with the cheaper GTi is that they do not react quikly to changing voltages. when you first power them up they take time to ramp up so they dont work well with wind turbines unless your wind is steady. So the answer is no I do not run the turbine on GTIs.
March 13th, 2010 at 1:41 pm
Quick question Do …
Quick question Do you have your Wind Turbine going thru the GTI? How do you handle the varying voltage spikes that come from the Wind Turbines? I found during one of my test, my turbine went over the 28v and the GTI didnt seem to kick in and the load. I recently upgraded my Homemade Wind Turbine and purchased a GTI myself and would like start playing around with the GTI.

I also wanted to …
I also wanted to say when I switched to the grid tie the fans you heard come on was the off grid inverters they run the fans about every 20 minuits when in standby. They know more than I do. When operating the fans never come on unless a fridge or freezer srats and even then they come on for a few seconds. Thanks again I hope Im helping out.

Thanks Sam I did …
Thanks Sam I did that video at the spur of the moment. I figured the sun was not going to get any better for the worst time of the year for solar production. After I shot the video I turned on the crocpot for dinner with all other loads on and discovered my meter standing still. Ijust did another video And will try to post tonight. CHEERS WINDY NC

Kevin,
That is some awsome home power you are producing there. Glad to see the GTIs working. As I said before when we spoke. When my system grows up, it want to be like yours. Keep the great video updates coming. Later from sunny FL. Sam

Good work love your setup… Could you show us the green led’s running on your GTI’s? You showed them faulted but not running.
Thanks… Keep up the good vids….
