Hi Kevin,
Is that …
Hi Kevin,
Is that an an Air X you have with a different tail? Does it run most of the time? Did you get your 300 w grid tie from ebay?
My wife went to Hong Kong recently and I asked her to check on grid tie inverters thinking since the inexpensive ones are made in mainland China, they would have it available there. Well, she couldn’t find them after going to a few stores in the electronics district. Grid tie seems the way to go except for novice like me.
. Thanks.Paul, NY

That is a tough question.
Most top of the line GTIs are expensive and operate on very high voltage. If you are trying to do a hybrid system at high voltage you are almost forsed to use hybrid inverter WOW very expensive.
The inverters I am running is the most ecinomicle wat to go for a hybrid system.
It dose require very large wire because it all operates under 20V.

Hello Jeff
For some reason you comment was spamed and I just found it.
As far as wind goes that is all in the research and location and overall height. Turbines can be frustrating solar is the best bang for the buck

The whole inverter …
The whole inverter thing honestly Is where i am stuck right now, I am confused whether to hook my panels in pairs to get the 24 volts needed to power the higher power inverters? isnt it a bit cheaper to go with 1 1200 watt inverter rather than 4 300 watt ones? plus the wire comming from the panels can be smaller right? If I had a 1200 watt interter could I run 2 extension cords from it and plug into outlets that are wired on each side of my breaker panel? will this power the hole house? is safe?

Thanks for the info. I hope I can get to that point. $16 bucks of my bill would be just a little more than 25%. Looking forward to your next video post!! Mark

Hello! You have …
Hello! You have some interesting gadgets over there…Anyway, I live in the “thumb” of Michigan and am looking at putting a system together first with a 550 watt turbine and think I can get decent wind here.. I’m looking to hook into my grid. Last month I used 1360 Kwh. What kind of savings might the turbine get for me? I’m sure it depends on the wind too…Is there a graph online somewhere translating all of the savings? Thanks Jeff

Great update on the …
Great update on the GTI. You showed a heater as your diverter load. I don’t know if you want heat in this space. But if you don’t, you can add a 12v heater coil or two to your water heater. And heat some water with it. Just a thought. Keep the great vids coming! Later, from sunny FL.

@OBXSOLWIND I thought cpu ment computer maybe not. Anyway, would you steer away for from gel batteries? What’s your thoughts? I can get a good supply for free. They are replaced monthly out of wheelchairs as is allowed by the insurance company.

Hey Travis
I have no problam with comments like that I think it a riot. As far as UL you have to chec your local info as of right now NC dosnt require it. I think UL is a joke back in the day they were about electric and mechanicals now thy test every thing and are often wrong.
Enjoy your TWO WEEK SUMMER LOL

Hello MRMG
If I had to average it out I would guess about 1500 KWHs. My power is cheap here about 9.5 cents per KWH. I save about 16$ a month.

Hey Kevin, didn’t mean to needle you a month back when you shivered in 65 degrees.Acclimation IS everything. Got the best all seasons here in MN. Yah maybe not. Just received my GT inverter. Same as yours. Alot smaller than on camera. This is all a new learn for me and many I’m sure.I for one have been inspired to learn more. More vids please! A couple ?’s if you have time. With these grid-ties not being UL, how did that work with signing off(permit)? And your take on gel batteries? tanx Travis

Had to sign up just to rate your video. Love what you are doing. I have the same inverter but my solar module puts out to high of a voltage so I have to get a bigger one. On averrage what are you producing in a month with your solar modules?

Hello viking.
You just click on what ever star you think the video deserves.
I think you charge controller can be set up as a controller without a devesion load.
If you are using lead acid batterys you want to bulk charge them to around 14.6 volts and float them at around 13.4. If you dont have your manual you can reed it online.
Hope that helps Kevin OBX NC

The trick is sising …
The trick is sising the eliment to you system. I am goung to give you the basics for 12 and 24 volt arays.
For 14 amps dc you want an elemant with 0>96 ohms
For 29 amps-0.48 ohms
For 58 amps-0.26 ohms
So take your mutimeter to a hard ware store and test water heater elemants til you find one in your perameters and hook it up and thow it in a large bucket of water dont wory about making you conections water tight theres no danger.

My friend if I …
My friend if I answer this question you have to rate my video.
I dont know anything about you system. You need a charge controller that will operate a dump load. If you have one than you need a dump load they have to be very dependable so that rules out motors and light bulbs. The best dump loads are resistive devices such as heating elements. You can use 110 or220 ac eliments whether its air or water.CONT
