A small gas engine technician told me of an onan engine that will run without a spark plug or wire from coil??

How is it possible to have a small gas engine that you can take out the spark plug, plug the hole and disconnect the coil/sparkplug wire - and the engine still start and run.
We will get a tootsie roll if we figure it out! He says he saw it - and it’s not a diesel.
Onan tech says:
Dennis
We no longer mfg any engines. We had a line of two cylinder engines and
they fired both spark plugs at the same time so one spark was just a wasted spark. It could run on just the one spark for awhile.
Regards Brian with Onan
It’s possible (but not especially easy) if you have two spark plugs.
Other than that, I don’t think it would work. One lead, check out Onan’s web site. It’s www.onan.com/onan/onanengines/ or, just www.onan.com. But if you find anything, you’re luckier than I am.
