can you just plug a power saw into it? thanks.
As long as it is a 120v socket, yes, you can just plug a power saw into it.
Good luck…

Yes, your saw will have outlets just like you see in your house. Just plug in and go (once the generator is running). You can plug in things up to the KV rating of your generator.

All of the generator sets [Gen Set]I’m aware of do have 120 Volt AC, and & some ALSO have 240 Volt AC Circuit Breaker protected receptacles on the control panel.
With these, yes, all you have to do is plug your tools directly into them, or you can use extension cords [follow all extension cord instructions and safety precautions] between the gen set and tool[s].
Also very important is that you READ, UNDERSTAND, AND FOLLOW ALL instructions and WARNINGS in the Owner/User Manual for any gen set.
For special applications, some gen sets can be special ordered without any receptacles.
