Kohler K241AS is alive after 12 years

I was cleaning out the basement and decided to get out the Kohler K241AS engine, it hadnt been run in over 12 years but ran surprisingly well after working on it for a while, it only took me a couple hours to fix and get started. the only problem it had after i started it was that the valves were out of adjustment and were tapping very loudly, i think this engine was built sometime in the 70s, if anyone knows more about when it was made feel free to say so. My dad took it off of a jacobsen tractor that was being thrown out, the body was in very bad condition, but the engine was in good condition. We got this engine 12 years ago, my dad started it once when he got it and then it sat in our basement for 12 years until now. It is 10hp.
-cleaned carb
-oiled and cleaned starter
-put on a new gas line
-put fresh oil in the engine
-fixed the ignition

Starting an Eastern Tools & Equipment 6KW diesel genset. It has not been started for at least two years and I’m certain the fuel is the same age. WHen it does start, be on the lookout for lots of smoke!

Briggs and Stratton 12F702-0758-01 Cold Start

This is my first cold start video, and probably the start of many more! The engine is in the title, it is a 1997 Briggs off of an old pressure washer. I think the mixture is too lean and that is why it won’t start very well in the cold, but my Small Engines teacher at school said it also could be that I have summer oil in there (there was no winter oil in the lab…). Any other ideas?

Onan residential Generator 4 cylinder 12.5 kw lp propane 1800 rpm

Running the Onan Generator for the first time, then engine is a 4 cylinder, 12.5 kw single phase. It would not start before. Put new spark plugs in, installed vacuum gas regulator, and checked firing sequence on coil. A key difference between this generator and many others is it runs at 1800 rpm verses others which run at 3600. Ran it without the muffler and it sounded great!
